ASA Divisonal Information
Hello Everyone!
I have put together some information regarding our upcoming ASA meet at Ga Tech that should be helpful. We will also have an information session Thursday morning at the pool at 10:00 so please come to that.
Please also be advised that we do have to fill some volunteer spots for this meet as well. It is a great opportunity to get down on deck with the action (only authorized personnel are allowed on the pool deck) and these spots will fill fast. Just go on our website as you always do to sign up. https://medlockbridge.swimtopia.com
If possible try to carpool, parking is limited.
FYI the concession lines get long during the meet so bring food and drinks but not big coolers.
Please let me or Coach Steve know if you have any other questions.
See you at the pool!
Angel

Teams, please be advised that barring a miracle, traffic is still bad in Atlanta. Please advise your swimmers and families to build in a little extra time to account for any delays.

- Session 4 - Thursday Afternoon - SSN 4 Entry List SSN 4 Psych
For Finals we will swim all relay events first and then a regular order of events.
- Unless your swimmers are going to their events when they are called, encourage your swimmers to stay in their team area during the meet.ALL TEAMS SHOULD MARK THE BACKS OF THEIR 10 & UNDER SWIMMERS WITH A SHARPIE WITH THE SWIMMERS NAME AND THEIR TEAM NAME THIS HELPS THE BULLPEN. Swimmers are not permitted to wander around the facility during the meet.
- While there is no assigned seating, teams should sit in the designated team seating areas, either on deck or in the stands. Teams are not allowed to sit in sections 103-109, those are for spectators only. Take only the seats you need for that session. Teams hoarding more seats than they need will be relocated to the parking deck.
- Only swimmers, coaches, officials and credentialed meet workers will be allowed on deck during the meet. Swimmers should report for their events when called. Swimmers enter the pool deck via the back hallway.
- During the divisional meets there will be a bullpen for all swimmers age 12 and under for the individual events only. Teams are responsible for getting their relays to the blocks. Teams will be responsible for getting their swimmers to the bullpen when their event is called to report. FOR FINALS ALL AGES MUST GO THROUGH THE BULLPEN FOR THEIR INDIVIDUAL EVENTS, relays will still go directly to the blocks.
- For relay events teams will be permitted to have a couple of helpers on deck to make sure their relays get to the blocks. Teams will be provided Relay Worker passes to get these helpers on deck. Once the relay events are done these folks need to head upstairs. Individuals without a correct pass will NOT be allowed on deck.
- Teams seated on the deck can get their swimmers to the meet staging area (bullpen) by taking their girls underneath the 10 meter platform and directly to the girls bullpen; to get your boy's swimmers to their staging area (bullpen) you can take them underneath the scoreboard, behind the blocks for the boys pool, to access that staging area. Teams seated upstairs should use the back hallway behind the spectator gallery and use the back stairwell to access the downstairs hallway to access the boys or girls staging areas. When swimmers are done they can return directly to their team areas on the deck, or may return upstairs by the back hallway stairs. Please do not use the turnstiles at the front of the facility to go downstairs.
- Coaches will not be allowed on the bulkheads during the meet, except for relay events to help line their swimmers up. When on the bulkhead, please follow the instructions of the officials.
- The top 10 relay times, top 40 individual 10 and under times and top 30 11 and over individual times from the combined results of the divisional meets will return for the Championship Final on Saturday. For the Championship session teams will be allowed to only advance their fastest relay from the divisional meets. Both the divisional and championship sessions will be scored and team awards will be provided for each meet.
- Swimmers qualifying for Saturday's finals can place as high as first place and as low as 40th place, regardless of which place they qualified.
- We encourage teams to use the same 4 swimmers who qualified for finals from the divisional round. However, teams may make changes to account for swimmers who are not able to return for finals.
- Alternates (first or second only) will be eligible to be placed into an open lane for a swimmer who does not show for their race. Once a heat has left the staging area to be taken to the blocks the seated alternate will swim in that heat. A qualified swimmer who no shows for that race will then assume the first alternate spot if they show after their heat has left the staging area.
- RESULTS FROM DIVISIONALS WILL BE UPDATED AFTER EACH SESSION AND POSTED AT www.atlantaswimming.com. THIS IS WHERE YOU CAN FIND OUT IF YOUR SWIMMER HAS QUALIFIED TO SWIM IN SATURDAY'SFINALS.
- Warmups for divisionals will begin approximately 90 minutes prior to the start of each session. All warmups must be supervised by a coach. Swimmers must enter the water feet first in all lanes and may not use the blocks, except lanes 1 and 10 which are 1 way sprint lanes. During competition the diving well will be available for warmup and warmdown only. Swimmers not following these rules will lose warmup privileges.
- Warmups for Saturday finals in the competition pool, (the non-competition "boys pool" will be open for all teams at any time) will be as follows teams G-O 9:25 - 9:55 and 2:20 - 2:50; teams P-Z9:55-10:25 and 2:50 - 3:20; teams A-F 10:25-10:55and 3:20 - 3:50.
