Volunteer Requirements: Sign up Now

Barracuda parents,

We are so excited that we'll all be cheering on our swimmers together this summer!  As you know, it takes a village to pull off this swim team.  It's volunteer-based which is how we keep our costs down.  We're excited to have Coach Maloney and some great assistant coaches to help your kids become stronger swimmers.  But - everything else is done by... US!!  

Let me elaborate:  There are 77 families with swimmers.  A home meet requires approximately 63 volunteer job slots and an away meet requires around 44 volunteer job slots.  So - when you consider families traveling for a meet, it's logical that most every family will need to volunteer each meet.  Please keep in mind a couple things:  we are only asking for ONE volunteer per family for ONE half of each meet.  

Similar to last year, this year everyone will choose their jobs for ALL meets at the beginning of the season. This way you can mark your calendars and plan ahead!

Action Item #1:  By Tuesday May 17th (the mock meet RSVP deadline), you must RSVP your swimmers for all meets. We need to know YES or NO if your child will be at each meet. You should have received a separate email with instructions how to do this:

Action Item #2: By the same date: Tuesday, May 17th, you will choose a volunteer job for each meet you have a swimmer.  If you are unable to choose jobs by this time, I'll go ahead and assign them for you. (The jobs will be filled on a first-come first-served basis.  That's the only way we can do it.  So if you have specific jobs you like, I encourage you to do this ASAP!)

When you are signing up for jobs on the website, you can click on the small ? for more information about that job.  On our team website you can find a link to a document called “Volunteer Guide.” This will give you step by step instructions how to do this.
