2015 ASA Divisional Meet @ Georgia Tech

There is a bunch of important information. Please read entire document!

Friday, June 26

Arrival Time inside the pool:  7:30am (we need some folks to reserve a good spot on the pool deck)

Warm-up: 7:50am

(It will take you about 15 minutes to park and walk in to the pool)

Parking: $15 at the gate or if you would like to prepay for your parking and get your pass in advance, please visit the following link https://gatech.clickandpark.com/    Please only buy the day you need and make sure you select the correct day (Day 3 is Friday), no one will need an All Day pass.  The cost for the advance passes is $11.50 (thanks to a service charge).

Meet Starts 9:00 am

Team Seating: The kids will be able to sit on the pool deck but spectators will sit in the stands.

Only swimmers, coaches and credentialed meet workers will be allowed on deck. All parents and spectators are requested to remain in the spectator area during the meet. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. Please stay out of the recreational pool and the Campus Recreation Center workout areas, as well as all restricted areas as posted.

Need volunteers: you will have a better seat if you volunteer. (Please sign up on the website):

                        4 timers for girls pool lane 5: (2) 8:30 - 10:30am and (2) 10:30am -12:30pm

Ribbon and awards workers: you don’t have to be there the whole time: (2) 9:30-1:00pm

                        Relay helpers boys and girls: 8:30 – 10am

There are 2 pools; 1 for the girls and 1 for the boys. The 15-18 girls will be swimming in the boys pool. Please see attached pool diagram.

Relays: Please be aware that your swimmer may swim up for the relays.We will make final relay decisions the morning of the meet. 

Bullpen: During the meet there will be a bullpen for all swimmers under age 12 for the individual events only. Teams are responsible for getting their relays to the blocks. Teams will be responsible for getting their swimmers to the bullpen when their event is called to report.

Teams seated on the deck can get their swimmers to the meet staging area (bullpen) by taking their girls underneath the 10 meter platform and directly to the girl’s bullpen; to get your boy's swimmers to their staging area (bullpen) you can take them underneath the scoreboard, behind the blocks for the boys pool, to access that staging area. Please have them return to the team area after they swim.

Order of events will be different than a regular meet. This will allow the 6 and unders to leave earlier than the rest of the swimmers:

• 6 & Under Free Relays - All 6 & Unders should go to the bullpen as soon as they are done swimming their relays to get lined up for their freestyle swim.
• All Medley Relays
• 6 & Under 25 Free - All 6 & Unders swimming the backstroke should go to the bullpen as soon as they are done swimming freestyle to get lined up for their backstroke swim.
• All Remaining Freestyle Relay Events
• 6 & Under Backstroke - After this event the 6 & Unders are done swimming.
• All Remaining 7 and Over Short Freestyle Events
• All Long Freestyle Events
• All Remaining 7 and Over Backstroke Events
• All IM Events
• All Breastroke Events
• All Butterfly Events

ALL TEAMS SHOULD MARK THE BACKS OF THEIR 10 & UNDER SWIMMERS WITH A SHARPIE WITH THE SWIMMERS NAME AND THEIR TEAM (MBR).THIS HELPS THE BULLPEN. Swimmers are not permitted to wander around the facility during the meet.

Attire and things to bring: Wear team suit and cap (if you have them) or something that closely resembles our team suit if possible. Wear your team t-shirt if you have one. Bring goggles, 2 towels, sharpie, highlighter, snacks, activities to keep kids occupied, etc. Parents please wear your barracuda spiritwear!

Food and Souvenirs:

Official Meet T Shirts and Heat sheets are on sale at the Friend's Unlimited Swim Shop located on the second level beneath the spectator seating area.

There will be food and drinks for sale; you can bring your own food. NO glass permitted.

Qualifying for Finals: The top (of all 5 sessions) 10 relay teams, top 40 (10 & under) top 30 (11 & up) come back for finals. We will not know if you have qualified until Saturday night after all sessions have been completed. RESULTS FROM DIVISIONALS WILL BE UPDATED AFTER EACH SESSION AND POSTED AT www.atlantaswimming.com. The coaches and/or team reps will notify you if you have qualified for the finals.

Finals: Sunday, June 28           1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. (approximate time) 6 & Under, 7-8 and 9-10

           5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. (approximate time) 11-18 year old

Please let us know if you are not able to come back to finals on Sunday so we can scratch you off the list and allow another swimmer to swim.

Results will be posted upstairs for spectators and downstairs on deck for coaches. Meet Mobile will be active during the meet as well.

JCAT qualifying:

• All swimmers must swim the short free at ASA. If you are swimming 2 other individual events, you will be swimming this as an exhibition event
• At the end of the meet on Friday, you must check in at the JCAT table to see if you have qualified. If you have, you will have to decide right then if you would like to swim and sign up and pay.
• You must bring a copy of your birth certificate. If you have done JCAT before, they should have it on file.

Practice on Wednesday: for those attending the ASA meet. The kids will work on relays, starts, finishes, etc. We hope your swimmer can attend. The times are:

10 & under: 10:15am-11:00 am

11 & up: 11:00am-12:00
